DAY ONE – WE HAVE ARRIVED TO MUCH COOLER WEATHER

Brrrrr.... This Melbourne weather is different from Townsville.

After two plane rides and a long day of travel, the excited tourists finally checked into the hotel rooms at 5.30pm.

We unpacked quickly and went to dinner where hungry tummies were filled with our favourite… spaghetti - mmmmm. After dinner we rugged up and went for a walk to the city to Federation Square, admired the amazing architecture and marvelled at the buzz with the amount of people out and about. We walked across the Yarra River (the view along the river with night lights and restaurants aglow was spectacular) and then found hot chocolate at Starbucks; unfortunately Krispy Kremes had re-located.

 Part of our trip back to the hotel was in Melbourne style, with a quick ride along Swanston Street in the famous trams. We couldn’t believe how full all the trams were at 9pm and we had to stand the whole way – it did help to hang on to something.

It was certainly a long, but great, day!

The night life along the Yarra... simply amazing!
